Lifecycle Wells Expertise

Our integrated wells and subsurface teams support the lifecycle of wells, from early subsurface evaluation and well design through construction operations, integrity and maintenance management, intervention, and workover, to late life optimisation and end-of-life decommissioning planning and execution management.

Integration drives value and we can provide specialist support or take full responsibility for executing well operations as the well management contractor, including as Well Operator in the UK (Contract Operator internationally). We have been appointed as Well Operator/Contract Operator 26 times since 2016. By assuming greater responsibility in this way, we can share risk, limit your liabilities, and ensure wells are designed, operated, optimized, and decommissioned safely and compliantly.

  • Subsurface studies, reservoir, network and well modelling, and optimization solutions
  • Lifecycle well engineering and subsurface technical studies to improve performance, optimise designs and reduce integrity risk.
  • Concept and detailed well design and engineering planning including services sub-contracting and procurement
  • Well construction and daily wellsite operations management, including project materials and logistics management.
  • Well integrity monitoring, intervention, workover planning, and project execution – this includes managing the transition of operating wells into our portfolio.
  • Well and asset stock materials and inventory management including rationalising legacy inventory.

  • Integrated, multi-well decommissioning project delivery from cost estimating to campaign planning through in-field execution management to close out.

Subsurface Engineering

Our production and subsurface management capability focuses on maximizing production and resource recovery. We deploy robust processes to identify value levers across well performance and reservoir management, alongside continuous monitoring at both well and reservoir levels.

We work in an integrated way across wells, facilities, and reservoirs. This includes well interventions, facilities modifications, infill drilling, enhanced recovery initiatives, and surveillance programmes, alongside novel technologies to help extend field life.

Our subsurface capability also supports decommissioning by defining zonal isolation requirements across the reservoir and overburden. This helps optimize well barrier placement, reduce complexity, and minimise overall decommissioning costs while maintaining integrity and compliance.

Well Engineering

We are a tier one contractor with more than20 years of wells delivery experience. Our expertise spans new wells, production enhancement, lifecycle well integrity and performance and targeted intervention and workover solutions throughout field life, including field life extension strategies. This integrated approach delivers optimized solutions, and improved cost efficiency for customers.

Well Decommissioning

We understand the issues impacting wells approaching end of life, optimizing maintenance, and combining diagnostic surveillance with other inspections and interventions to unlock value and reduce uncertainty.

We take a fit-for-purpose, asset-led approach to projects, from discrete studies to provide annual decommissioning cost estimates, to optimised engineering solutions, tailored service packages, and innovative incentivised commercial models to manage the execution of integrated decommissioning projects that support and reward delivery excellence.

We are the only contractor globally experienced in delivering asset and well decommissioning under a fully managed model – from collaborating with customers to create initial methodologies to integrated wells and asset decommissioning delivery.
