01 – What innovations in LNG storage make small-scale storage projects more viable, especially in remote locations or areas with
high labour costs?

As CB&I continues to innovate LNG tank designs and project delivery models to reduce risks, improve construction schedules, and optimise overall project economics, we have developed a comprehensive midscale modular tank design and execution plan to minimise site activities, shifting most tank construction work to a high-quality, low labour cost, well-controlled environment. The modular tank construction method is effective for project sites in either remote areas or areas with high field labour cost. Transportation of the modular LNG tank often includes both ground and marine components, which expose the module to dynamic and vibration loads. Therefore, a comprehensive transportation study
is required to ensure the modules can be delivered safely and economically to their destination.
