CB&I supplies atmospheric and crude distillation units that accommodate a variety of processing requirements and feedstock characteristics. We can design and build units of any capacity and often use modular construction techniques to make assembly and installation more efficient.

Refiners around the world depend on our distillation units to separate crude oil into fractions. Atmospheric distillation units utilize atmospheric pressure to produce gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, residuum (bottoms) and other fractions. Vacuum distillation units utilize negative pressure to distill atmospheric bottoms into gas oils and asphalt.

Single-point EPC services. We provide complete design-build services for integrated and standalone distillation units, handling everything from process design, detail engineering and procurement to fabrication, modular or conventional construction, start-up and commissioning. We execute most of our projects on a lump-sum, turnkey basis, performing the work with our in-house resources whenever possible. By providing single-point responsibility, we can ensure project quality and better control costs and schedules.

Depending on the size of the distillation unit, we can perform some or all of the work utilizing modular construction methods. Modular units are fabricated and pre-assembled at our fully equipped shops and shipped to the installation site. We pioneered development of the AUTOSTILL® modular crude topping plant, which is used for atmospheric distillation in remote areas

Modular construction allows us to fabricate and assemble the units under controlled conditions, ensuring the work is performed according to our quality and safety standards and also reducing weather delays. In-house fabrication and assembly lessen the project's impact on the installation site, an important consideration when the unit is destined for a working refinery. Installing a modular unit usually requires less highly skilled labor onsite, which can lower the customer's labor costs. Furthermore, in-air work is minimized, which means less risk for our customers.

Integrated global resources. We are known for our ability to overcome logistical challenges and deliver oil and gas projects almost anywhere. With locations worldwide, we can provide the right people, materials and equipment for all our projects and offer localized expertise on regulatory matters, permitting and logistical issues. And we've implemented company-wide technical standards and quality assurance programs to ensure consistent, superior results, no matter where our projects are located.
