CB&I developed the Waterspheroid® tank in 1954 as a larger-capacity alternative to our original Watersphere® tank. Today, the Waterspheroid is our most popular style of elevated water storage tank, providing reliable service to thousands of municipalities and industries.
Waterspheroids are available with storage capacities of 150,000 to 2,000,000 gallons. Sleek and attractive in appearance, they offer low capital and maintenance costs, and their small footprint requires minimal land.
We provide complete engineering, procurement and construction services for Waterspheroid projects. Utilizing our own in-house resources, we perform everything from foundation work, design and fabrication to tank construction and painting. This true EPC approach helps us minimize costs, adhere to project schedules, control quality and reduce the customer's risk.
Offering a variety of tank features. Standard features for our Waterspheroid tanks include flush threshold steel doors with deadbolt locks, providing easy access for authorized personnel and preventing unauthorized entry. Interior ladders facilitate access during inclement weather while minimizing unauthorized tank access, vandalism and unsightly graffiti. The tank bell or pedestal provides space that can be used for storage or as housing for telecommunications equipment, pumps, valves, piping and controls.
We also offer a number of optional features, including our patented FreshMixTM system, which circulates the water to prevent stagnation. With no moving parts, the FreshMix system is easy and economical to maintain. Other options include decorative graphics and logos, cathodic and lightning protection, overhead doors, double personnel doors, stainless steel risers and overflows, tank drains, FAA lighting, intermediate platforms, instrumentation and telemetry.
Our optional water tank coating inspection and maintenance program provides inspections, repairs and preventive maintenance that can greatly extend the useful life of the tank-all for a reasonable annual fee.
Improving the tank concept. Our record in the design and construction of water storage is unmatched. Over the past century, we've built more than 25,000 elevated water tanks, pioneered better tank designs and storage technologies, and developed a unique trailing scaffold system that makes construction safer and more efficient while improving inspection access.
