CB&I was selected as owner's engineer for a major flue gas desulfurization (FGD) project at Eggborough Power Limited's power station in Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

We are providing project management, site management and technical services to carry out the design reviews. We also are managing all segments associated with a turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract.

Engineering and construction is under way at the 2,000-megawatt coal-fired power station, where new facilities will be retrofitted to two 500-megawatt boilers. The Eggborough plant will utilize a wet limestone process to convert sulfur dioxide to a compound that can be safely disposed of or used for industrial applications.
