The CATOFIN® isobutane dehydrogenation process is a commercially proven fixed-bed process for the production of isobutylene from isobutane. Utilizing enhanced catalyst technology, the CATOFIN process achieves the highest selectivity and per-pass conversion available for isobutane dehydrogenation. The overall selectivity of isobutane to isobutylene is greater than 90 mol%. On-stream efficiencies of over 98% (excluding biannual turnarounds of 2-3 weeks) are routinely achieved.
