Hydropillar® Elevated Tanks

HydropillarThe Hydropillar® is one of the most popular styles of elevated water storage tanks in use today. The tank has a large, strong support pillar, an attractive appearance and a multipurpose interior space.

Our experience in providing turnkey design, engineering and construction services to the water industry is unsurpassed. We built our first elevated water storage tank in 1894 and have since completed more than 25,000 elevated tanks. We built the original Hydropillar in 1962. Today, our experience includes more than 900 of these tanks, including both the tallest and the largest-capacity Hydropillars ever built.

Sturdy construction, flexible design. Hydropillars are all-steel, all-welded structures that feature large-diameter support columns (pillars) with attractive vertical flutes. The pillar offers excellent stiffness to earthquake loads, superior suitability for low load-bearing soil, and unobstructed access for exterior inspection and maintenance. Properly maintained and operated, a Hydropillar will provide many years of dependable service.

One reason our Hydropillar is so popular is because of its flexible design. We can configure the space inside the pillar for use as offices, meeting rooms, as a pump or fire station, or for equipment and machinery storage. Alternatively, this space can be reserved for future expansion as funds permit. The pillar provides sufficient space for multiple floors, and exterior windows can be installed.

Standard Hydropillars may be designed for storage capacities ranging from 200,000 gallons to more than 4,000,000 gallons. We also offer an alternative wineglass design for smaller Hydropillars ranging in capacity from 100,000 gallons to 400,000 gallons.

Our standard Hydropillar design provides a 40-foot head range that minimizes pumping costs and variations in water pressure, which saves our customers money and provides worry-free service. For added safety and security, we design all our elevated tanks with internal access ladders and solid, flush threshold steel doors.

Providing a turnkey approach. We are one of the few companies with the capability to self-perform all facets of a water storage project, including design, foundation construction, fabrication, tank construction, painting and maintenance. This turnkey approach helps us minimize costs, adhere to project schedules, control quality and minimize the customer’s risk. We provide single-point responsibility for the entire project—and we do it for a fixed-price—so our customers can focus on their core business activities. Contact: water@CBI.com
