Gas-to-Liquids

Gas-to-Liquids is a promising technology that can help oil producers monetize stranded natural gas reserves that otherwise could not be brought to market. CB&I is familiar with a variety of proprietary GTL technologies and has the experience to help oil producers develop both demonstration and commercially viable plants.

Broad GTL expertise. We have the in-house expertise to take any proprietary GTL technology from the conceptual stage through the construction phase. We've performed feasibility studies for more than 200 GTL plant configurations and provided engineering, procurement and construction services for a successful demonstration plant.

We offer GTL customers a full range of EPC services that include feasibility studies, front-end engineering design, detail engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, startup and operator training. GTL facilities may be built using modular or traditional "stick-built" construction methods, or a combination of both, depending on customer and project requirements.

Experts in oil and gas processes. Our GTL expertise is derived from our experience in delivering projects that span the full oil and gas production cycle, from wellhead to product distribution. We have extensive experience in the three major processes that GTL technology entails: syngas production, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and hydrocarbon refining. Over the past several decades, we've designed and built thousands of facilities around the world for the production, processing, storage and distribution of oil and gas, and we are one of the world's leading suppliers of hydrogen and syngas plants.

Many gas processing facilities lend themselves to modular construction. We pioneered modular construction of process units 30 years ago as a means of shortening project schedules and controlling costs. For every project, we evaluate the customer's requirements, the project's size, installation site and other factors to identify the best construction option.

We are known for our ability to execute successful process plant projects almost anywhere. That's because we operate an international network of engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction resources that can quickly be mobilized to any project location. We have people who understand the regulations, logistics and business practices of the communities where we work. And we direct-hire and train local labor whenever possible, providing a pool of skilled workers who understand our processes, standards and tools.
