College/University Recruiting

As a specialty engineering, procurement and construction company, we regularly recruit college graduates with backgrounds in civil, mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering. These new recruits then enter the Engineering Training Program, a one-of-a-kind, working experience designed to give trainees the opportunity to assume different responsibilities and roles within our various departments and business units.

What differentiates the CB&I ETP from other training programs is that trainees are given a broad exposure to our operations, technologies, services, procedures and personnel while progressing through a variety of production-oriented assignments in design engineering, shop fabrication and field construction. Time spent in each assignment will vary, depending on the individual's interest, progress and available openings. Upon completion of the ETP, employees may elect to remain in a design engineering area, take a field engineering assignment, move into project management or enter our marketing and sales organization. We strive to match an employee's skills and interests with an appropriate long-term career path, supported by follow-up training and educational assistance as needed.

Many of our project managers and design engineers are graduates of this unique and interesting training program. This unique experience and knowledge helps our employees to define their goals and give them the varied background needed to drive their career at CB&I.
