Natural Gas Processing
Patented gas processing technology and proprietary know-how developed by CB&I are used in more than 200 natural gas plants around the world. Many of the innovations we have developed, like the use of plate-fin exchangers and packings in cryogenic columns, remain today as standard designs in the industry. We have a broad technology portfolio—including gas conditioning and treating, fractionation, deep ethane extraction and LPG recovery, and liquid product treating—enabling us to offer solutions across the natural gas value chain.
Since 1970, CB&I has been awarded more than 300 gas plant projects, including over 200 turbo-expander plants with our patented Randall Gas process technology and proprietary know-how, providing in excess of 26 BSCFD of gas processing capacity worldwide with capacities ranging from 10 to 1,200 MMSCFD.
Having designed more than 200 hydrogen and syngas plants around the world, CB&I’s expertise covers the entire range of equipment and technologies for hydrogen and synthesis gas production.
CB&I has designed and built Claus sulfur recovery units, amine units, sour water stripping units, Oxygen Injection™ units, liquid sulfur degassing units, tail gas treating units and thermal incineration units around the world. Offering a complete package of EPC services—from conceptual design through commissioning—we consistently deliver systems and services that provide superior long-term value to our customers.
